Milwaukee Bucks
The Bucks opened the 2010-2011 season by winning just one of their first three games. Saturday night's win was significant, though, as point guard Brandon Jennings had his first NBA triple-double in the win over the Charlotte Bobcats.
Jennings scored 20 points and added 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
"This is my best game since I've been in the NBA, just the fact that I had a nose for the ball and I was being unselfish and I was everywhere," said Jennings. "I was being a floor general tonight."
The Bucks play Portland on Tuesday night and travel to Boston to face the Celtics on Wednesday.
Wisconsin Badgers
Despite not having a game this weekend, the Badgers jumped up a spot in the BCS standings. Now at #9, the Badgers are the highest Big Ten team in the standings. Michigan State, previously #5, was decimated by Iowa and dropped to #14. Iowa sits at #16, with Ohio State at #11.
The Badgers play at Purdue this weekend.
Green Bay Packers
The Packers relied on strong defensive play to take down the New York Jets on Sunday. The Jets came into the game after their bye week, riding a five game winning streak, and tied for the best record in the NFL. The Packers, who are struggling through several key injuries this season, felt this game was a statement about the team's drive and desire.
"We wanted to come in here and prove to everybody what we're all about,"said Clay Matthews. "We've had a few close losses that we thought we should have won. We let our play do our talking."
Turnovers and penalties were the name of the game. The Packers had their first turnover-free game of the season, and had just three penalties for 15 yards. Both Charles Woodson and Tramon Williams ripped interceptions away from Jet receivers. Williams also recovered a fumble.
Special teams were huge in the Packer win. Mason Crosby hit three of four field goal attempts for the only points of the game. Punter Tim Masthay pinned the Jets inside the 20 yardline five times out of eight punts. On a windy day the field position battle was huge.
The Packers, now 5-3, have sole possession of first place in the NFC North. The Dallas Cowboys (without Tony Romo) come to Lambeau on Sunday night.

Playoff Loss Ends Exciting Season
Earlier today the Milwaukee Bucks came up short in Atlanta as the Hawks took the series four games to three, the only series from the first round of the playoffs to need seven games to finish.
Poor shooting and lack of rebounding were the main pitfalls for the Bucks today.
Milwaukee shot just 33 percent from the field and made only four three-pointers, a series low. The Bucks were also out-rebounded 55-34.
It was painfully obvious throughout this series that the loss of Andrew Bogut to an injury was an obstacle the Bucks wouldn't be able to avoid for long.
In the three games the Bucks won they shot the ball with deadly accuracy from outside the paint. But when those shots didn't fall, Milwaukee struggled to keep up with the bigger and more athletic Hawks.
Despite the loss early in the playoffs, this season should be viewed as a success by Bucks fans. For the first time in many seasons Bucks' games were actually exciting. The addition of Brandon Jennings and the mid-season acquisition of John Salmons and Jerry Stackhouse helped propel Milwaukee to their best record in years.
The successes the Bucks achieved this season can be used as building blocks for the future. With the return of Bogut the Bucks will have one of the best centers in the league and an emerging star in Jennings at point guard. The Bucks bench was the second best among all NBA teams in points scored, this depth will also help Milwaukee to continued successes in the season to come.

Jennings Places 3rd in ROTY Balloting
On Thursday the NBA Rookie of the Year Award was given to Tyreke Evans of the Sacramento Kings, who had an amazing rookie season, becoming just the 4th rookie in history to average 20 points, 5 boards, and 5 assists (Oscar Robertson, Michael Jordan, and LeBron James being the other 3 players).
Brandon Jennings finished 3rd in the voting, with 2nd going to Stephen Curry of Golden State.
While Jennings may have come up short for the award, he is the only of the 3 top finishers to make it to the playoffs, a victory in its own right.
Since the injury to Andrew Bogut, Jennings has stepped up and carried the Bucks into the postseason. Tonight the Bucks look to extend their postseason run by finishing off the series against Atlanta with a win at home.
